To Pierce or Not To Pierce…This Is the Kwerstun

This is my good friend Lisa and her good friend, who is now my new friend, Susan.  Susan reminds me SOOOO much of Megan Mulally.  She looks like her…she’s little bitty, like Megan is…talks like her kinda, too.  Skeery. She’s a trip, that Susan.  Lisa is one of the kindest, sweetest people I know.  I think I’ve told y’all about her before.

Now, if you notice closely, both Lisa and Susan have little studs in their noses.  Ever since I first met Lisa, I found myself digging her nose ring.  I never thought I would ever consider something like that, but, you know what…I’ve been thinking about doing that, maybe when I turn 40 next February.

I thought about a tattoo for about 2 seconds.  nixed that idea because I had a major skin graft to remove something from my person in 1993 and I realized that to purposely put something on my person (this is for me, mind you) would be wrong. So, a tattoo is out.  I’m not scared of needles or nothing.  My pain threshold is quite high.

So, who out there has had this done?  Yay or nay?  Do it Sista or don’t do it Sista?  I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do…just curious.

I dig the little stud in the nose.  I think I’m gonna pray about it.  Wonder if I can put that on the prayer list at church?  I can see it now…”Prayer Requests…please remember Sista Smiff as she makes a major decision about whether or not to get the stud pierced into her nose.”  HAHAHAHAHAHA

One thing I am seriously considering doing to mark my turning 40 in 2009 is train for and do the Country Music Marathon…the Half.

I’m so living on the edge, it ain’t even funny.  Nose piercings…half marathons…..we’ll see if I follow through on either.

  1. My thoughts on nose piercing would go along the line I conveyed to a guy at work who had bragged about his prince albert and I asked him how he aimed….
The same would apply with a nose piercing to the times you might have a cold or alergy problems.

    Jerald
not a champion of extra holes in the body

  2. This thing did not register the -grins- I had inserted in certain areas of my post, so read them into the needed areas as you go over it again….-G-

  3. CMM half, a big ol ‘yeah baby’. I plan to walk it on my new knee…

Hole in your nose…. whatta ya think an old geezer like me is gonna say ‘hell NO’. Glue a little sparkle thing on your nose when you’re feelin sassy. This is the voice of experience talkin. I have a pierced body part, and it ain’t my ear. Got it in 1969 and have lived to regret it.

  4. I’m no fan of extra holes, perhaps I’m squimish? I’d stick to ears, but, I’m me, not you.

  5. Well, clearly it’s yer choice, but if yer askin’, I gotta give ya a big noooo. Yer so pretty, why would anyone with such purdy eyes draw attention away from them?

And I scarcely know a soul who’s best feature is their nose!

I have no tatoos and no “strange” piercings, but I’d rather go for a tramp stamp than a nose piercing.

  6. funny you should mention this – my navel ring’s ball thingy that was attached got knocked off in an unfortunate housecleaning accident and 2 days ago the ring part came out in the shower. I didn’t think it was a big deal and it’s not, but now i have a hole there. And I think “wow, if i ever have kids is this thing going to stretch???” — I got my navel pierced at 24 years old and had thought long and hard. So, yeah, do what you will, but remember, the hole is there, ya know.

And I’m with you on the tattoo – thought about it for 2 seconds, not for me…

  7. I’m wearing ear rings and nose piercings in all the holes I came equipped to wear them in…..none.

You make your own decision. I’m not for or against it. That’s a personal thing for you to decide.

There was a lady here at work that had one many years back. She also had multiple ear holes (in a little row). She was observed at another State facility wearing a little piece of gold chain from her nose to her ear and when asked about it it later, she completely denied it.

Maybe you could do that and hang a little sign that for which you could charge some advertising fees.

  8. Ooh Mike…that sounds great! I’ll definitely consider that.

The 14 year old daughter is asking for a belly button ring. I think nawt.

The Manchild went through a phase here a year or so ago where he wanted one of those ear gauges and I said no way to that but he could get his ear pierced if he wanted to.

  9. I am getting mine done tonight i thing but you just have to keep in mind that that whole will always be there no matter what, just make sure that is something that you want really bad because you don’t want to spend the money then decide you don’t like it just like a tattoo. So I am obviously with it and say do what you do. sexychicaclark@gmail.com if you want i can email you tonight after i get it done to tell you what i think after i get it….
