When I Dream…
Someday, when Cuzzin Terry and his Missus permanently move to Florida, if the Good Lawd’s willing, I hope this will be my backyard view:
This will be my deck I will sip my coffee on every morning and watch the sun come up. (That’s Cuzzin Terry there)
Yep. That’s my dream. One of them anyway.
Had a wonderful time yesterday with Cuzzin Terry, his Missus, his boys and daughter in law. I swear, them people are just wrawng. You hadn’t seen twisted til you run acrosst Joe. The V is as in Vandy. (I think?)

is that local? like the gallatin 109 bridge? or some other waterway? certainly not a hendersonville lake front.
I am probably way off, but if that is where I think it is and the bridge is Briley Parkway, then the gal who runs the Bluegrass Inn used to live on the other side of it on the Opryland side years ago and I always lusted after and had great envy for a house on the Cumberland myself….
But I reckon I will stay in the knobs here in east tenn…
Jerald
Some may think this crude, but if I had a deck that overlooked the river like that, I’d pee off of it every morning.
Don’t be stealing my ideas now!
If I were a betting person, I’d wager that Cuzzin Terry (and other Collie Men) have done just that from there. I know OTHER Collie Men have been known to do that in other places…
That is The Briley Parkway Bridge. If you’re riding in a van or truck that is high enough to see over the sound barrier you can see the house. It is a little spot called Montegue. From the 1920’s to the early 1950’s, well to do Nashvillians spent summers and weekends here. After airconditioning came into being, the need to go to the river was not as important.
My great uncle Henry Martyn Hayes (Hayes St downtown) bought the property in 1919. The original structure “Hank’s Fish Camp” burned in 1934. “High Bluff” was built in 1936. It too has a fish camp look and feel.
Eddie… Your idea is not original. It’s the natural thing to do.
That is Vandy’s “V U” sign in the photo.
You will need a roommate. Oh, no really, YES you will. You cannot live in such a place alone.
And I, being the self-sacrificing person I am
, am willing to share that lovely place with you.
Pleeeeeaaaassssee! Perty pleeeeeasse with sugar on top!!!! I want to live on the water! Besides, with me around you will never be the oldest woman in the group.
I lust after waterfront property…..
