I started this here blog in 2005, but, didn’t get serious about it til about January of 2006. Even then, it wasn’t a “serious” thing so much as an outlet.
My little outlet turned out to be life-changing in more ways than I’m even aware of.

I usually visit your blog about every other day. If you wrote more, I’d visit more. Now, please undestand that this next statement is in no way a slam. I truly wish I could write about nothing as you do, so eloquently.

I am a huge Wilburn Brothers fan and would love to hear more stories about them. I first saw them at the Grand Ole Opry in 1963. Doyle was married to Margie Bowes at that time and Sharon was just a baby. I really liked Margie and was sorry when she and Doyle broke up. Did Doyle or Margie ever remarry any one else? Did Teddy marry? I was so sad when the Wilburns stopped touring and so sorry when they died. I really miss them.
I would like very much to know whatever has happened to Margie Bowes. I loved her when she was on the Grand Ole Opry and never figured out why she was no longer on. Let me know if you would. I’ve been searching the Internet but haven’t been able to get much information.
Thanks for the reply about Margie. Are you related in some way? If you are or know her personally, tell her she still has a fan out here. I loved her recording of “Big City”, “Understand Your Gal”, and “Little Miss Nobody” and all the other songs she sang on the Opry. I saw her a few years back on an Opry “oldtimers” show. It was great to see her then, and would like to see what she looks like today.
