I don’t push my faith on anybody. I am of the mind that it’s a good witness to let others see Jesus in you. I love my church, my church family but that ain’t the reason I attend a Baptist church. Is it Richard Land’s sexy hair? Nah. Is it because I love GA’s and Bible Drill? Hardly. Not even because of Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon.
This right ‘chere is why I love the Baptists so much.
Christians are some of the best cooks around. They do know how to put on a spread.
The dessert table alone would make you want to slap your mama. Note the peach cobbler at the bottom. That was my contribution. I do make some fine peach cobbler, I must say.
Praise the Lord and let’s eat!

Yep. This is why I LOVE playing Baptist churches. They ususally pay us by feeding us, and BOY, do they feed us.

Mr. Smiff here,
They do know how to cook, but I also couldn`t help notice that one of them knew how to bring the KFC!

It’s funny, you’ve stumbled on one of the reasons i’m not a baptist anymore. I’m too picky an eater and hated pot-lucks i always had to go to growing up. That plus Richard Land’s hair.

Did you learn how to make that cobbler from the lunch ladies at Camp Linden?

It looks green, but, I believe it’s corn.
Actually, my cobbler learning came from the recipe of a Catholic Bishop!!

Bless Jesus. Dinner on the ground, on the table, in the vestibule — wherever you got to have it, can’t nothin’ beat it.
It’s really the only thing the Church of Christ is jealous of the Baptists for. Them Church of Christ ladies can cook like the dickens, too, but I can’t think of a dinner on the ground, or even in the vestibule, at a Church of Christ in YEARS. Dude, even the METHODISTS put on a feed occasionally. (They did the other Sunday for my brother-in-law, their new preacher. He like to died seeing that spread at that little country church. Baby Fishmouth just about made herself sick on fresh corn and tomatoes.)
And y’all, that KFC is from the single fellas and/or widowers who don’t know how to cook. They felt it would be a sin to come empty-handed, and besides, KFC won’t kill you no more like it used to. (The single girls who don’t cook and a couple of moms who didn’t have time went to Publix and put it in their good bowls. I’m just sayin’.)
